  • Your Calendar.
  • A list of Merit Badges you’d like to work on in the Spring. 3 fun ones and 3 Eagle required.
  • A list of “Fun Night” activities for review.

Don’t forget to RSVP for Matthew Garringer’s Eagle Scout Ceremony. We will need a count for those Scouts wishing to go to “Climb Time” ($15 for the event). Finally, do not forget about recharter. $15 is due for each Scout next week for recharter. Please let Frank know if recharter dues need to be deducted from your account.

Also, we will be electing new officers for the Troop. Be there! :-)

Please note that the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Matthew Garringer will take place March 2, 2008 at 2pm at the Christian School Youth Center located at 204 E. Henry Street in Farmland.

The Troop 60 Court of Honor will take place Sunday, February 17th at 4:30pm at the Millennium Room at the Monroe Central High School. Please plan to attend so your Scout will have the opportunity to be recognized for his advancements and honors.

MUNCIE — Even though the wind chill factor was expected to reach 20 degrees below zero, local Boys Scouts defied the bitter cold to spend this past weekend camping outdoors at Camp Red Wing near Prairie Creek Reservoir.

The council-level “Gathering of Eagles” event is scheduled for Feb. 21st - - if you’re an Eagle Scout & want to attend, mark your calendar!

is year’s event is scheduled for February 21 at the Ritz Charles in Carmel. Information on the awards and the event may be found online at www.crossroadsbsa.org/advancement/.

The awards are:

  • Eagle of the Year (Judge John Price Scholarship): This $1,000 scholarship is given to an Eagle Scout who earned his award in 2007.
  • Eagle to Eagle: Given to an adult Eagle Scout that is encouraging young men to become Eagle Scouts.
  • Friend of Eagle: Given to a non-Eagle Adult Scouter that is encouraging young men on their quest to become Eagle Scouts.

If you are aware of any deserving youth or adults, please consider nominating them for these awards. The deadline has been extended until January 23.

Thanks for your help in recognizing the Scouts and volunteers in our council.

PARKER CITY — The holidays often bring out the good in people.Not so for Matt Garringer.

Garringer, a senior at Monroe Central Junior-Senior High School, is good year-round. He just happens to shine especially during the holidays.
