BSA Troop 60 :: Boy Scout Troop of Farmland and Parker City, Randolph County, Indiana

Spring 2009 Camporee: May 1-3 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds

Saddle up Partners for a Rodeo at the Delaware County Fairgrounds on May 1-3rd. All Boy Scouts and Venture Scouts are invited to participate in the activities. All Webelos Scouts (those who are going to be crossing to Boy Scouts soon or have recently) are invited to participate in a District Wide Webelos Crossover. Any Cub Scout who will be in the 4th or 5th grade next year are invited to camp out at the event and check it out!

Come one and all to the Boy Scout Western Rodeo. You’ll set up camp on the range of the Delaware County Fairgrounds. All day Saturday you will participate in many Western activities, and on Saturday evening there will be a campfire/arena show. Good eats, good fun, and great fellowship await you.

Each troop/patrol needs to have a ranch name selected and a ranch brand. These will need to be submitted Friday evening during check-in for campmaster approval. Approval decisions will be announced at the Friday evening SPL meeting. Saturday, you will need to have a patrol flag with your ranch name and brand on it. This flag will need to go with you to all the activities, and turned in for judging on Saturday evening.

Each patrol will be given a piece of leather that is to be presented at each Saturday activity. The leather will be marked for each activity you complete. This leather piece is to be attached to your patrol flag when it is turned in for judging.

Saturday evening try your hand at the cowboy bean dutch oven contest. Any recipe is allowed as long as the main ingredient is beans.

So come prepared for western activities and a great time!
