Troop 60 will be leaving for a canoe trip in Michigan on Monday, June 22nd. We will be in the Grayling, Michigan area. We will be camping along the river for three nights. The estimated cost will be around $150.

We are looking fora couple of parents to come along and help with driving and moving equipment.

In preparation, we will be going on a couple of small canoe trips and have opportunities to pass the swim test. Please have your Scout get their Boy Scout physical turned in as soon as possible.

This scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Mark D. Van Matre (1961-2008). Mark was a Scouter from Muncie who believed in the Scouting program.  He influenced many youth and adults while serving on staff for White Stag and Wood Badge.  This scholarship is made possible by Mark’s friends and family who knew his love of youth and the White Stag program.

Troop 60 visited Camp Redwing on March 13th-14th and stayed in one of the bunkhouses. The Scouts participated in an orienteering course set up by Frank Turner. The Scouts had a great time exploring all of Camp Redwing since our Troop was the only ones out there.

Troop 60 held their Court of Honor at the Parker United Methodist Church on Feb. 22, 2009. The Scouts were awarded merit badges they earned and rank advancements. The meeting was also used to discuss the upcoming Summer Canoeing Trip.

Troop 60 held a lock-in on Friday, Feb. 20th where First Aid was taught and a emergency situation was staged to test the boys First Aid knowledge.
