BSA Troop 60 :: Boy Scout Troop of Farmland and Parker City, Randolph County, Indiana

Troop 60 is gathering items to send to our men and women serving in IRAQ this holiday season. Here’s some ideas of what they are asking for.

The following is a list of items that the troops need:

  • baby wipes
  • shampoo
  • soaps (liquid) lotion
  • foot care products
  • sun block(SPF-15 or higher)
  • Visine
  • Q-tips
  • baby powder
  • chapstick
  • hand sanitizer
  • deodorants
  • all dental products (toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, etc)
  • stationery & envelopes

Most requested items:

  • Beef Jerky
  • Slim Jims
  • peanuts
  • tuna fish (seal packed)
  • small packages of cheese crackers
  • hard candy
  • small packages of cookies
  • life savers, gum, suckers
  • Crystal Light drink mixes
  • Kool-Aid drink mixes in presweetened packages
  • powdered Gatorade in small packages
  • tic tacs

More ideas: pringles, cereal bars, Fruit rollups (make great packing, they fill up the spaces), and individual servings of peanut butter.

And anything else that they can put into their pockets to carry with them when they go out on missions.

The Following is a list of items that the troops would like to have:

  • small hand-held games
  • batteries (AA or AAA)
  • brown t-shirts (any size)
  • white tube socks
  • music CD’s
  • movie DVD’s.
  • Guy magazines (Cars, Technical)

If you have anything to donate, please contact a scout, a scout leader, or bring your items to the Farmland Lions Club by Monday, January 15th between 6:30-8pm.
Our troops need our support!!! Please take a moment and send one of our soldiers a Christmas Card this season!

Friday, Dec. 8th – Lock in at the Parker City Methodist Church. We’ll be working on the Eagle required merit badges.

Monday, Dec. 11th – Patrol Leader Meeting and Leader meeting (prep for summer camp).

Monday, Jan. 15th – $15 is due for recharter. Every scout must recharter for the 2007 Scout year.

Jan. 26th-Jan. 28th – Winter Camporee at Camp Redwing.

Your popcorn orders should be turned into Steve Oliphant before this friday, Nov. 17th. It’s very important that you get your orders in so Steve can have an accurate number for popcorn sales and delivery.

Popcorn will be ready at the Parker City Methodist Church on Sunday, Dec. 3rd from 2-3pm.

Popcorn money is due back to Steve Oliphant on the Dec. 11th regular meeting at the Lions Club in Farmland.

The “Survivor Campout” originally planned for this weekend (Nov. 17th-Nov. 20th) has been cancelled.
